In Attercop you play as a small jumping spider attempting to eat enough food to make it to the next season season.
Theres a number of hazards and predators you must avoid to survive all four seasons.

This is my first game for the NES. Its very short and simple. The purpose behind this project was to learn how to
make a game after learning how the assembly code worked. I thought i might aswell share it here because it
wouldnt exist without the help of this forum.

p.s. Im working on a full game right now that im really excited about. I plan to share some playable pieces of it here in the coming months.

I have a comment about the jumping mechanic, little spider always jumps the same height - what do you think about only ascending as long as the jump button is held down to give a little more articulation / improved control to the jumps?
Variable-height-jumping as it's called. I'm not sure the game needs it though as most jumps are of the same height. One exception is the bottom-right platform which is too low for jumping back up, the only way out is to jump on a log. Jumps would need to be a little higher to jump back from there, although I guess it could be a conscious design choice.
Some criticism:
The game is awfully hard because some enemies like the spider in spring appears randomly without warning, often on top of the player who dies right away, and summer is even harder.
Otherwise I like the concept, simple and fun. The fish is fun and does give a short warning, but still manages to eat me.
Contra jumping turns out to be surprisingly variable, as people who speedrun the waterfall level will tell you. It's not always possible to get the jump height you need to climb the waterfall quickly.
