So recently moved into a new place, first house I'm moving into where I'm not moving into an established situation, so basically setting up everything from scratch. I'm happy with my CRT TV but want to get a projector for the livingroom for general TV/game type use. I was curious if anyone here has any recs or experiences with projectors that work well for retro gaming but also 1080p content over HDMI. Basically the dream for me would be:
At least 1920x1080 true pixel resolution of the projector matrix, not some weird number of pixels that a 1080p image would be interpolated into. That's one of my chief irks with LCD TVs, there don't seem to be any standards enforcing that a producer actually pack in the number of pixels and ensure overscan stuff is accurate, etc.
In addition to this, composite, S-video, and YPbPr at least, VGA is a plus but not required. Additionally a standard 1/8" stereo audio out for running sound then out to an external sound system. The latter isn't required but is nice vs having to offload converting RCA stereo through a separate converter.
Anyone have any go-to projector models or brands, something that you have used yourself and know meets many of these criteria? Ideally the brightness and throw would work for stuff in the back yard on the side of the house too but main use will be on a screen in a livingroom. Thanks for any suggestions!

I think you're gonna have a really hard time finding something modern with analog video inputs... Maybe if it's something from a few years ago, but even then you can't be sure that it won't butcher 240p signals like most TVs do. I think you'd be better off just looking for a decent HDMI projector and also getting a retrotink (or one of its clones) for all composite/component/s-video needs.

I'd recommend the OSSC, or a Framemeister if you can find one.
My current setup:
Super Famicom ("2/1/3" SNS-CPU-GPM-02) → SCART → OSSC → StarTech USB3HDCAP → AmaRecTV 3.10

This doesn’t directly answer the question, but I use this adapter box for converting 240p RGB, composite, and S-Video to 1080p HDMI and I find that it works outstanding at a very low cost:

I have this other adapter box for converting YPbPr to HDMI:

I am not impressed with the quality of the image. The image is too dark and it has lost some sharpness. I think it also trims the border of the screen slightly if I remember right. However, it does work and it supports 1080p at a very low cost.
