NES Multicarts Menu Edit and games

Post by TheBoxGamePL »

Hello, I have a question. Does anyone know how to remove unnecessary content from multicarts on NES? For example, there are 6 games and the rest are clones. I would like to ask if it is possible to remove unnecessary content from the multicart and make the arrow fly from top to bottom, skipping unnecessary content and removing unnecessary clones of games.

Hacking the menu to remove the duplicate games is one thing, but getting it on the cartridge again is the hard part.

Some multicarts have jumpers that controls either value read from special registers or specify the lowest PRG-A lines to be driven to some fixed combination of bits (for example: PRG-A0=0, PRG-A1=1, PRG-A2=0, PRG-A3=0).
This can alter the multicart combination, in some cases multicarts are able to be altered that way to show only the very first-unique games.
This approach does not need modyfying the ROM but there must be explicit jumpers on the cartridge PCB.
