..has anyone does this? Ever run into any problems?
I'm getting a ton of errors, and I'm not sure why!

I've burned plenty of M27C512s, close enough.. Never had any problems.
Are the errors during burning, or verification?
If you go to Help / Test Hardware, any error there?
Did you read the datasheet for your specific chip? Especially the VCC voltage during programming. All the EPROMs I've burned I've had to raise VCC from 5V to 5.6V by changing a jumper that the Willem software doesn't tell you about.

Most people these days use the USB connected Willem programmers..
those can't go above 5v. Make sure your programmer is connected via DC/AC power!

Yeah, these requires 12V, and I'm using a 12V adapter!
I've checked all of the dip settings and jumpers a million times, and I'm sure I got them right. I'm using the latest software as well. I've burned other EPROM's and flash ROM's, so I know the programmer works.
In fact, it can tell if they are blank, but it cuts out at 6% during each write / burn attempt.
I'll admit I don't know much about this thing, but I'm out of ideas really!

how do you verify they're blank? Eprom needs to be verified at 4.5V. The Willem programmer can't go that low!
Just to be safe, erase them before programming.

OK, I'll give it a try.
Thanks!

Which model willem are you using?
I have a Dual power one at home. It uses USB for power but can also use an external source. I had loads of problems with some flash chips, but almost no problems with 27C256 EPROMs (and I've done a lot of em)
The thing I do mess up ( a lot ) is forgetting to set my jumpers and switches correctly. Its the jumpers I usually forget.

I have the one pictured here:

Is it that same one? Maybe we can review jumper settings if it is, but I am pretty sure I have it correct (as far as I can tell with the diagram they sent).
Thanks!!

Sorry, different model than mine.
EDIT-
But remember you have to change DIP switches AND jumpers.
Its easy to forget about the jumpers.
For my version of the software, it shows an image of what everything should be set to. Good luck with this. It's very frustrating to have the programmer and not be able to use it.

Instead of making a new thread I thought I'd ask it here. I get the following error from my willem programmer (PCB 4.5C): Error at 0x000300 Chip = 0x00 buffer 0X18. I'm trying to program 27C512 Eproms. The dip switches and the jumper (only 1 on the image) were all set according to the image on the software. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong ? After he programmed the Eprom he gave the error. (during verification ?)
I don't have the programmer connected with AC/DC power. This will be the cause of the error I guess ?
How do I erase my bad EPROM ? Just leave in the sun ? Or shine in the UV window with a lamp ?
