armadillo bad dump?

Post by coinheaven »

has anyone tried the famicom game armadillo on the power pak? it starts off fine, but then when you start playing the first level, the background turns blue. is this a bad dump?

Perhaps, but it's just as probable the mapper is bad.

I redumped Armadillo a month or two ago, and it turned out the same as the existing rom, so the dump isn't bad. Either the PowerPak doesn't fully support the mapper it uses, or it needs to be assigned a different mapper, like kyuusaku was saying. I'm going to be sending Armadillo and some other stuff to bootgod soon, so if it needs a new mapper, I'm sure he'll be able to tell.

Skrybe, if you've got the time, could you check Armadillo in-game and look whether or not the status bar occasionally bumps vertically by 1 pixel? (try it on Nestopia or another accurate emulator to see what I mean)

I have an Armadillo cart, and the status bar bounces occasionally on both a toaster NES and a Famicom. It's also very, very slow. The game's just not programmed very well.
