No -- the background games are suspended. re: it crashing -- if you're using the version linked to above, that's old. All of the gui code has since been completely re-written.

You can download the new version from here: http://nemulator.com/nemulator2.zip. Note that it uses Direct3D 10, so it's Vista only (yeah, yeah, I know).

The usual pre-release software caveats apply: your roms must be in c:\roms or it'll crash, the favorites panel is static, etc., etc., etc.

I've been working on nemulator lately, have polished it up quite a bit, and have released a new version. If you're interested, please check it out and let me know what you think.
