Mega Man 9 Box Resembles NES Cart

Too bad they didn't use a shaped CD in the form of a NES cart.
Would the Wii even accept those types of CDs? I know they work fine in devices where you manually click the CD into place, but the Wii has that automatic thing going... I wonder if it would work with non-circular things.blargg wrote:Too bad they didn't use a shaped CD in the form of a NES cart.
Even better would be for the CD to be shaped in the form of a NES cart's printed circuit board, since the CD case is already shaped like a NES cart's outer plastic shell.blargg wrote:Too bad they didn't use a shaped CD in the form of a NES cart.
I was under the impression that this limited edition version was going to be retail, while the mouse market version was going to be downloadable.Jeroen wrote: The cd doesn't contain the game.....the game is gonna be downloadable.
That's not the way I read it at all:Jagasian wrote:I was under the impression that this limited edition version was going to be retail, while the mouse market version was going to be downloadable.
"Unfortunately, we weren't able to put the full game on these cartridges (the licensing and legal issues were a headache and not worth the trouble), but I agree, it would've been cool. Instead, these carts contain a small CD with artwork, game information and screenshots."
But yeah, I think it would've been alot cooler if they released the game on it! It also says there will probably be only around 200 of them available, so most of us can pretty much know that we won't have it :/

i saw the rarest Nirvana CD ever made at the now gone, ZIA Records at 32nd street and She Blvd in Phoenix, Arizona when i was in highschool 10 or 12 years ago.blargg wrote:Too bad they didn't use a shaped CD in the form of a NES cart.
It was the limited edition shaped mini-cd in the shape of a shuriken.
It was an import and apparently the owners of the store didn't realize shaped cd's weren't just a cd some kid cut with a hacksaw. the price for it was roughly 2 to 6 dollars. (not sure, i scouted lots of rare cds, and that is just one of many, from over a decade ago.)
Anyways, it was an import from somewhere in Scandanavia.
