You mean the converter? Ya.....they're banned on ebay. I got mine from a famicom collector. Go to famicomworld.com and ask around ;-)

This is not working out anywhere near as smoothly as I (with hindsight, naively) thought....

If you haven't already decided, the plain PowerPak will be the easiest option for you. The only issue may be that the first time you format the CF card you will want a Windows machine, because Mac OS X sometimes does weird stuff with the formatting. Other than that it will have no problems with FAT16/32.

A good source for the pin adapters is http://www.makershed.com/ProductDetails ... Code=MKPP2 They also have the playpower.org clone system.

http://www.consolegoods.co.uk/ also sells 72->60 pin adapters. Though they're located in the UK, so the shipping will most likely be higher than from a seller located in the US.

Good news! My Famicom AV is alive again :D

And I've got a 72-pin converter, just waiting for my PowerPak now (which has been shipped already).

Any tips on cleaning carts? Seems some of my old games don't work so good any more :(

Whoot :-) Anyway I reccomend getting some q-tips (cotton buds) and some alcohol (pure) and just rub the connectors with the alcohol. (always works for me)

You know, I thought that the second I pressed "Submit" but then I thought "Given this week's troubles I'm touching nothing until someone tells me otherwise...."

:)
