I don't get why changing the mirroring would affect the mushroom, which is a sprite...

Sorry, I rechecked with the inverted mirroring and my (human) memory was just faulty. It had been an hour or so since I took the picture before I posted the actual comment. The mushroom and goombas actually did show up just fine. The picture was just taken _after_ Mario had already eaten it. You guys are sharp! Thanks!

I will fix the comment on my site too.
