Problems with private messaging: what's the Outbox?

I'm not sure who to contact about this. Even if I did I wouldn't be able to PM them because my PM'ing does not seem to be working. I was hoping someone could help me out or point me in the right direction.

When I send a private message it sometimes sits in my outbox for days at a time before it is ever sent. For example, I have 2 messages in my outbox right now. One was supposed to be sent 4 days ago and the other I sent many hours ago. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to get them sent faster?

There is nothing wrong with your pm: when the message is in the outbox, this mean the targeted user as not read it yet. It doesn't mean that it was not sent. Some people on nesdev are not regular so give them some time

This also means you can edit/delete messages that have been "sent" but not read yet (if I remember correctly).
