I don't mean to follow up on this tangent too much, but I'm quite confident this would never happen. I've heard of fan projects getting cease and desists at worst. I wish I could offer my services. I've done a very accurate recreation of a mega man 3 track (link), but I've got several projects on my hands, and it's very, very time consuming to do recreations like this.
Perhaps try hitting up 8BitDanooct1 from youtube! He seems pretty adept with famitracker recreations.
