NES Powerpak PAL NES, NTSC games

Post by Peter85 »

Would there be any way to speed up NTSC roms on a powerpak so that the speed of the gameplay would be normal and not slowed down due to the 50/60 Hertz problem??

Thanks in advance!

Not really.

EDIT: My suggestion: get an NTSC NES/Famicom from Ebay.
Download STREEMERZ for NES from fauxgame.com! — Some other stuff I've done: fo.aspekt.fi

It's not impossible, but because of the extreme extent of the hacking required, it's pretty safe to say the answer is no.

Not even the original developers attempted it. Very few games were properly hacked. Most developers didn't even bother to correct the music pitch. Some corrected the music tempo, but not the pitch (RARE).

Kudos to the Rygar developers for actually making a competent PAL version, gameplay speed wise. Even though they still screwed up the sound pitch.
