I know MetalSlime warned against watching his "video diary", but I took a quick look. Definitely something wrong with him. He laughed after every sentence. Reminds me of the Joker. Very weird guy right there.

I don't know, I'm just glad he didn't.
I suspect his reaction would be something like...

"Quit hiding behind your typed words and your avatars. And your silly user names"

This reminds me of that guy who claimed to be redoing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the NES.

What a load of garbage, compacted into one extremely-concentrated Joe Cracker Jack Box, filled with shit for a prize!

I offered to help the guy get started with learning NES programming, but he didn't really respond. So I guess he either is giving up without trying, or is too attached to the misguided notion that someone else is somehow going to program it for him.

He usually doesn't respond accordingly. He is either ignoring what we say or he really has some sort of cognitive dysfunction.

I don't think he is willing to go as far as learning to code himself, his mind is really set on finding someone to do the dirty work for him. Maybe if he actually started learning how to code he'd realize how far-fetched his goals are.

Honestly, to me it doesn't look like he is capable on focusing on something as much as is needed for programming, so I don't think he has what it takes to be a coder. Actually, he doesn't look very smart either.

I think his reasoning goes something like this:
- A NES ROM maker would be AWESOME, DUDE
- An awesome thing gets plenty of donations
- Money is the only thing you need to get things done, so someone will code this for all the money I'll get from donors
- Voilà, I present you to the NES ROM maker!
(Dark secret real objective: I can easily plagiarize the NES games I like without a single assembly line woo hoo)

That's what I think too. He looks too naive to be thinking of stealing money from possible investors... I really think he wants to see this thing done, so that he can make his horrible fangames games without needing any talent.

He is the outcome of "you can do anything you put your mind to" and "you can be anything you want to be when you grow up" with a dash of "you're special" growing up.
