Setting up an instrument?

Post by ALMighty »

I've read through the documentation, but I can't seem to understand how to set up instrument volume and such. How is it done? :?

I press Shift+F3, but then I can't seem to do anything besides moving the cursor.

Use the * key, on the top right of the keyboard. That'll move the cursor over to the instrument editor, then you can change those settings with the arrow keys.

Shift+F3 moves it into the DPCM instrument editor, just for samples.

Laptop friendly?

Did you mean "buy a keyboard that has a * key at its top right"? When I first learned NT2, my primary computer was a laptop. (My other computers at the time were 1. a 75 MHz Mac, much too slow to run NT2 in PC emulation, and 2. a 25 MHz 486 PC, much too slow to run NT2.)

Yeah, laptops are pretty much unusable with it unfortunately.
