Blade Buster appears to use a TKROM board, so this is a list of possible donors.

About the Castlevania hack, it appears to use the same board as the original game, UNROM. List of possible donors.

Thank you for your reply , Takumaru.

I should be able to grab some sport games in those lists for cheap!

Because so many come out every year and are usually better, and nobody really plays old sports games and sports vs like.... megaman for a donor, A sports game loses. XD

I successfully put blade buster on a TSROM board. I don't think it saves anything and those TKROM are usually just slightly harder to find cheap ones.

Yeah, the difference between TKROM and TSROM is the battery. TKROM games should work fine in TSROM boards, but they won't be able to save.

Uhh , did I just make a stupid move?

So I grabed

for around 7 bucks or so (damn expensive)

only to realize that it use 28 pins for PRG.

While Blade Buster PRG is 256K which is a 32 pins EPROM.

So am I basically screwed now? No more fun for me from my 7 bucks?

Do I have to find a new donor or I can modify the PCB somehow?

Thanks for the answers in advance, hope you guys don't get turned off my my stupidity. <_<

If you look at the chip on the board, there's 4 more pin holes on the board for a 256K mask rom that you can re-wire for a 32pin program chip. Nope, not screwed, you just gotta do the re-wiring like every other board. :)

By the PS1's time, the technology was there to keep an old game updated with new rosters. EA and other publishers didn't bother because that would kill the business model. So for the first two years of a console generation, you might get a sports game that's better as they refine the engine, but after that it's usually just new rosters and a continued license to use the online multiplayer matchmaking servers.
