Why is the second 8kB of sprite patterns moveable?

I try to think of a good use for moving the second 8kB, but I just can't think of anything.

Screen splitting, mirroring effects, funky distortions.... that is, if you meant you can change the address of the sprite list/table/whatever in VRAM
