New russian made SNES Flash Cart

While browsing d4s filedump's picture, I stumbled on what seem to be a new SNES flash cart that can load from SD like the Powerpak or the Everdrive and is much cheaper.

This cart seem to support Capcom's CX4 chip and is pretty cheap (65.10$ for 64 MBit / 71.30$ for 128 MBit) and support game up to 48 MBit, not sure why the 128MBit version is for though. I checked the manual and it's pretty intense and full of technical info that I supposed will be of some use for people that can understand it. I almost impulsively bought one but then realize that the menu showing on the youtube video is in russian and not sure if there's a way to switch to english yet even tough I'm pretty sure there 's a way.

Anyone heard of it before? I was pretty surprised to see that it support CX4. Wonder if they would be able to add more special chip support with an upgrade. Who are those guy anyway?

Yeah. Did someone start making CX4 clones after the chip was RE:d, or are they destroying original MMX2/3 carts to get the chips? (I hope not :/ )

This sounds pretty cool, although there's a lack of further details at the website:

Support for Assembler Studio, and stepping with the execution of code on a real console.

They have learned to emulate the CX4 in an FPGA or CPLD, at least that is how they are doing it on the sd2snes, and there is some sort of Altera CPLD on this board as well.

Right, the Cx4 is emulated. Given how well it's understood now it's not surprising. And it's not as complex or demanding as say the Super FX or SA-1. I hope the sd2snes is able to support Super FX. That would make for a very impressive flash cart. I'm sure Star Fox 2 would have nothing to do with the large demand for sd2snes then.

I know the uncompressed Star Ocean is 96Mbit, but they say the maximum rom size supported is 48Mbit on the website so I was wondering what was the 128Mbits for...

And I agree it does look an awful lot like sd2snes, specially that sd2snes also have CX4 support.

Tried to order one while waiting a few month for my sd2snes and let me tell you how much hassle it is! I tought they were taking credit card but apparently not if you order from north america. They would only take Web Money, some kind of convoluted Russian Paypal. Wasted an hour trying to set it up only to find out you can only fill the account (or purse in their lingo) using wire transfer or by loading it at one of the location in russia. Total pain in the ass!

1. SD/SDHC/MMC cards managing suport by coCPU named SMARTDMA.
2. And yes, - CX4 full support.
2. 48 MBit only soft limit.
3. Firmware, - 3 versions:

1. In this card use CX4 clones, but CX chip splited on card (SRAM+CPLD+coCPU, in original CX4 chip this components in one plastic case)

Well, if you want people to buy I suggest you to try to support some more popular method of payment like paypal, google checkout or heck, even plain and simple credit card. I don't imagine many people will want to pay you with western union. It's a shame though I saw a few people interested in buying one but are not able to.

PayPal started to allow payments to Russia just recently, and it is very limited. You can't get the money out of the system here, you can only transfer them to someone or pay for something (outside of Russia). So it is still useless for business or anything except for ebay activity.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that, it kinda suck. I received paypal payment from Russia in the past but I guess it's more complicated to get payment than to make them according to what you're saying.
