Hello, I leave this little video where you can see what I'm doing, if this is not the right place please move it if they believe the video is not correct (because this game no a NES game, but I try to that seems, I understand), I needed to do the inventory and a demo of the first level, the animations are not final and the music is wizard & warriors 2, is temporary.
The graphics look like they would be right at home on a TurboGrafx16 or Master System, they don't look NES-ish enough, even though there are still other NES-like restrictions applied elsewhere.
Here come the fortune cookies! Here come the fortune cookies! They're wearing paper hats!
The game is looking good. The graphics appear to be inspired by old consoles and computers in general, but it certainly couldn't pass for an NES game, there's too much stuff there that the NES can't do.
I like it, I actually even thought it was an NES game then did see some giveaways, but it still looks pretty cool to me. Dico es un guapo juego al momento! Heh, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the comments, I'm using 25 colors at most for the scenarios, enemies have 3 colors and black, total 4 colors, I am learning along the way about pixelart and programming.
The music was playing (with nsflive!) While recording video.
I hope to translate it into English also when the demo ends.
A greeting!.
I've been working on the game long ago went up a video where you can see some enemies and fighting, the lion has changed the attack estava not happy with the one seen in the video.
I leave the link if you want to have a look!.
Glad to see more of this! It's a breath of fresh air to see some outside scenery finally. And good graphics at that!
Looks promising!
The sprite movements look pretty original to me; I remember you said the running animation was taken from Terminator or something? But it doesn't look too copied.
As far as gameplay is concerned; it looks tedious. I just hope you don't make a grindfest.
That looks really sharp! The animation is wonderfully smooth.
It's only on a second viewing that I'm noticing how it only barely exceeds the NES's capabilities.
(I did notice the volume fade on the triangle channel on the first listen, though)
I think the gameplay looks fun. Though I would say that it looks like it would be difficult to learn. The enemies seem to be hard to hit without knowing how to jump over them and time your attacks carefully. I think this would be difficult to teach the player. I would test it on other players who haven's seen the video and see if they can manage.
It looks much more NES-ish now, only the sprites seem to use too many colors. Looks good. The long time it takes to defeat common enemies probably does make the gameplay tedious though.
Whoa, This is nice, most of it could be done for NES, I guess.
Like others, I wonder about gameplay. It just looks like it's hard to hit enemies...
But it's sweet that you make progress
