Anyone knows if someone sells snes cart shells. empty shells no pcs, ready to be painted. I am having lots of trouble painting the ones I recycle because of the glue that is left by the stickers, It is quite hard to remove. I have tried several types of acids. But it really depends on the quality of the sticker, it is fairly new, it is hard to remove

You could ask bunnyboy where he gets the shells for his Super NES repros. (retrousb on EFnet or retrousb on AIM) They're shaped like Super Famicom or PAL Super NES games, but they have the indentations in the back so that they'll fit into an NTSC Super NES as well.

Yeah, and anything you do to remove the glue just destroys the cartridge. Even Goof-Off just melts the plastic.

The right solvent is something based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol such as rubbing alcohol.

Isopropanol attacks the glue and on a lot of cases it's possible to pull the original sticker without damage it. (though you are very likely to lose the adhesive)

Just use a heat gun, if you do it right, you can remove the sticker including the glue with no left traces. Even if you dont succeed, you can use some Hara lap or something to remove the rest of the glue.

That makes me want to copy their copy of a SNES cartridge and start selling them.

Ive looked into getting these created and sent several samples to manufacturers. There are several places in China that does them. Initial startup cost for the mould is around 1000-1400 depending on where you go, and approx 30 cents per case made.

You could make your own using a 3D printer. Then sell them here.

How many you want, how much you wish to pay. Answer clear - get the deal.

I gor quotes from chna 30 cents but the mold is so expensive.

if I don't need to keep the label, I just soak the cart in hot soapy water for 30 minutes, then rub off the label to expose the glue, then I apply a layer of olive oil, wait 30 minutes, and rub off the glue, and wash the cart in hot soapy water to remove the oil.

Works every time.

Dude Heat gun or hair dryier works the best!!! it takes me about 45 seconds to peal the sticker right off and the sticker even survives looking good.
