Remember to back up your PMs, if necessary!

With the forum going away, it's easy to forget to check through your PMs and back up anything you might want to keep. I presume that any archive we eventually get will not maintain them in the interest of privacy.

Just a reminder. :)

We decided we're moving to phpbb3 already? I thought that was stil in the "maybe" stage.

I have no idea, I just meant that it can't hurt to page through your PMs and back up anything you want to keep. Are you saying this isn't necessary because it's all being ported elsewhere?

Well that depends on wether we'll switch to phpbbs3 or not. We'll most likely back everything up if we switch to 3 and then you can stil read the backups. The forums are stil gonna be around in some form though. (unless all those people offering servers/hosting suddenly die or something)

edit: that being said backing up your pms might not be a bad idea...just a little premature.

Is there some way to efficiently construct a backup of our PMs? Otherwise I might write a small perl agent to do it (using "LWP::UserAgent").

If we did move to another forum software version eventually, and locked this one, you would still be able to log in here. And preferably, still able to send/receive PMs, so anyone who hasn't moved on can still be reached.
