SNES battery replacement

Post by pichichi010 »

Hey i got a dragon ball z rpg which wont' save, I already replaced the battery 3 times from 3 different used carts; none of the batteries made the game save.

I am suspecting it is a cart problem, I already ordered new batteries,

is there any way to see if the batteries have charge?

have you guys encountered any problems with saving besides a dead battery?

Thank you!

Multimeter in Volts DC mode, put the read lead to the + side and the black lead to the - side. Anywhere between 3V and 3.3V and the save should be fine for years.

I haven't seen this (AFAIK) on SNES or NES carts (haven't checked really), but sometimes an NVRAM controller or the RAM itself can be bad in that pulls more current than it should, but otherwise works fine.

ok thanks,

Im going to get a multimeter today, hopefully i can resolve this,

I kinda encounter the same problem with a zelda parallel worlds, but i thought that it was because I did not get the sword when I played it.

But when you turn it the game on theres not even the 000 save file. so I have to check out that one aswell.

Thanks!
