Indeed! Streemerz is an amazing homebrew.
You should talk to Danilo Dias about porting Oniken to NES :)

That Oniken really is an amazing looking game. The soundtrack could really use a 2a0x makeover though. :X

I think I'm done with making ports. :) Besides, Oniken seems to taking way more liberties than STREEMERZ when it comes to the limitations of NES. (Then again, it also never claims to try to mimick an NES game, just "8-bit style".)

That's sad but I perfectly understand and respect it.

Yes, you're right.
Many Oniken's colors, sounds (and even the resolution) don't match NES hardware specs - but this game clearly tries to simulate an 8-bit Nintendo experience.
Adaptation of these non-matching elements (sprites, colors, sounds and music) could be the real fun about porting Oniken to NES.

But this is Streemerz thread. Sorry about changing the subject! :)

After a quick look on Oniken website:
So I'll need to buy the game so I can port it to NES?
I liked trailer, but some limitations, like a chopper(?) in 0:50, might be really hard to do, unless you don't want a 100% port accurancy.

I think the graphics look more like Master System graphics than NES graphics.

Early Master System games, for some reason, tended to use few colors for each sprite, making the graphics look more NES-like. Oniken kinda looks like one of those games when it comes to coloring, but it has better animation and visual effects than most early SMS games. To me, the biggest problems in adapting Oniken for the NES are the multiple background layers and the oversized sprites.
