I'm sure some of you have already seen this, but anyways...
Seems as if Krikzz (Retro system flash cart designer and manufacturer) is currently developing one of his everdrives for the NES/Famicom. It also appears to use SD cards and has quite a capable FPGA.

I agree. That's 50% of the product IMO. I can't believe powerpak doesn't have a nice menu. It's not that hard to make at all.oRBIT2002 wrote:A cool GUI please..
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
PowerPak's menu source has been released so feel free to make a better one.3gengames wrote:I agree. That's 50% of the product IMO. I can't believe powerpak doesn't have a nice menu. It's not that hard to make at all.oRBIT2002 wrote:A cool GUI please..
Download STREEMERZ for NES from fauxgame.com! — Some other stuff I've done: fo.aspekt.fi
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
How would one test a new menu for the PowerPak?
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
can't wait for the famicon-ED... already drooling over it...
the menu won't be any different from the other 8bit Everdrives, don't get your hopes up

Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
Having recently acquired a Mega Everdrive, I can say I'm definitely interested in this. I wonder how Krikzz will handle the insane amount of mappers the NES has. Also wondering if it will work on clones...
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
On older systems your GUI options are a bit limited. Plus you shouldn't be spending that long in the GUI anyway.

I wanna see someone attempt this:MottZilla wrote:On older systems your GUI options are a bit limited.

You'd be surprised at how long some people take to decide on what game to play, or just sit there listening to an NSF.Plus you shouldn't be spending that long in the GUI anyway.
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
While that's a nice novelty, the low resolution and vertical orientation make that a very uncomfortable way of choosing or finding a game. It might work better for SNES which has better color resolution.
Re: Famicom/NES Everdrive
This is cool, but the most crucial fix the PowerPak menu needs IMO is putting all textual information inside the safe image area.tepples wrote:I wanna see someone attempt this:
